Individual Placement Support (IPS) at The Life Rooms has successfully been awarded the contract to deliver our employment support service across Liverpool, Warrington, Halton, St Helens, Knowsley, and Sefton.
The Life Rooms already provided IPS services for Liverpool, Warrington, and Halton. This new contract means that our IPS team will be working alongside additional community mental health teams (CMHTs) in St Helens, Knowsley, and Sefton as of Tuesday 1 April 2025, supporting a greater number of CMHT service users who have an aspiration of paid employment.
Individual Placement Support employment service support people who have a mental health condition to achieve meaningful full-time or part-time employment. Statistically, the number of people with an enduring mental health condition in paid employment is low, which is where our IPS service can support with helping to address any barriers that have prevented people from starting or remaining in work.
The IPS team spend time getting to know their service users, understanding what their interests and skills are, and helping them to identify and apply for roles that are suited to their goals. They offer practical support like helping to create and tailor CVs, interview preparation and practice, having supportive conversations about mental health conditions with the employer, and advice on how benefits will change once a person starts work.
Our employment service work alongside clinicians, service users, and employers to support all through the process of identifying job opportunities, gaining employment, and supporting people's health and wellbeing. You can find out more about IPS here.
