Who is this course for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone who wants to better understand their own health and public health. It is particularly relevant for people interested in the health and social care sector or those in support roles in education, public service, or corporate settings.
What will I learn?
- Understand Health and Wellbeing: Explore the role of health in improving life quality and length, positive and holistic health concepts, and basic human needs like food, water, and safety.
- Learn Public Health Basics: Understand individual vs. population health, how data like life expectancy informs public health, and the importance of infection prevention measures like handwashing and vaccination.
- Make Healthy Lifestyle Choices: Discover how physical activity, balanced diets, and avoiding substance misuse can improve life quality. Learn about the impact of work, cultural factors, and tools like health assessments.
- Manage Health Collaboratively: Empower yourself through self-care, active participation, and partnerships with healthcare providers to improve personal and community health.
Join us for an introduction to health and wellbeing and learn how to improve your health while supporting others.
The course consists of four sessions, followed by a 45-minute multiple-choice assessment.
Upon passing the assessment, you will earn a Level 1 Qualification in Health Awareness. No prior courses are required to enrol.

There will be a commitment to attend RSPH courses you have signed up to, so that you have all the information you need for your exam at the end.
